Show Gordon I. Stevens Transferred By Dixie Forest Service Gordon J. Stevens, forester on the Dixie National Forest since 1959, will leave Cedar City on June 23, Forest Supervisor Jack B. Shumate announced today. Mr. Stevens is being transferred to the Warren District of the Payette Pay-ette National Forest in Idaho, where he will assume duties of . district ranger. His winter head- j quarters will be in McCall, Idaho. A native of Ogden, he attended Ogden City schools and Weber College. During the summer of 1961, he played professional base ball for the Boise Pilots in the Pioneer League. After spending three years in the U. S. Marine Corps. Mr. Stevens enrolled in the college of forestry at Utah State University, graduating in 1959. He completed requirements for a master of science degree at USU this spring. Before his assignment In the supervisor's office, Mr. Stevens was a forester on the Escalante Ranger District. While in Cedar City he has worked in timber management and fire control. Mrs. Stevens and two boys will accompany Mr. Stevens on the transfer. 1 |
