Show Speaker Admonishes Students to Seek Happiness in Home A class reunion in 1993 was projected for graduating students at thp College of Southern Utah at commencement exercises held Thursday evening, by Dr. Boyd C. Packer, assistant to the Quorum Quor-um of the Twtlve Apostles, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints. The projection was used to typify ty-pify two couples who had sought different objectives in life. Through the comparisons of the couple Dr. Packer pointed out the importance of values to the 218 graduates, who are Just now beginning their journey into life. He admonished the students to seek happiness in the home and to set values and goals that will help them attain that goal. The hypothetical couples he projected to 1993 sought on the one hand, material wealth and a goal of riches, and on the other a couple cou-ple that found strength and happiness hap-piness in their home. Dr. Daryl Chase, president of Utah State University, presented associate of science degrees to 162 students who had successfully successful-ly completed two years of academic aca-demic study at CSU and 56 bachelor bach-elor ' of science degrees In the field of elementary education In the four-year program at the Cedar Ce-dar City institution. In a report from Dr. Chase he stated that CSU will be the first , institution In the state to under-, under-, take a major building program In the next blennium. He stated I that the new physiclal education building, authorized by the legislature, leg-islature, would get under way ' early In the fall and would be the first major project Jn the entire en-tire state. . Dr. Royden C Bralthwalte, director di-rector pf CSU, in his report, an-nounced an-nounced that an Eve- Ashton Memorial Garden :wiU be con-' con-' structed on the CSU campus. Mrs. Ashton of Vernal, a member cf the USU Board of Trustees, died i this past year and the garden has been planned as a memorial to her service to CSU and to - higher education in general In the state, the director said. |
