Show Lack oi Bids Submitted for Sale Of City Building Creates Problem At the regular June meeting of the Parowan City Council on Monday evening at which time bids were to be opened for the sale of the city owned office building, the council found that no bids for the sale had been submitted and therefore no action ac-tion could be taken on the matter, mat-ter, states D I'.obinson, member of the council. The building had been offered for sale to procure funds to finance fi-nance Parowan City's portion of the construction of a new library building in cooperation with Iron County. The council felt that the sale of the building would relieve the city of the necessity ne-cessity of bonding to raise the money to finance the building project. Mr. Robinson states that it was hoped that the Bank of Iron County would submit a bid on the building in which it is housed hous-ed but that the bank had ascertained as-certained that the cost of remodeling re-modeling the building to turn it into a modern banking ediface would be prohibitive when added ad-ded to the purchase price and j therefore no bid was offered. |
