Show SCHOLARSHIPS... By Kristi Duncan One Third of the graduating gradu-ating class of 1978 has applied for scholarships to continue their education, as shown in a survey which was conducted last week at Grand County High School. Forty-five seniors were questioned about post high school plans. The results are as follows: 33.33 percent of the 45 answering seniors have applied or auditioned for scholarships, but only 8.89 percent have heard anything back. Over half (51.11 percent) per-cent) of the students surveyed sur-veyed have apphcd for college entrance and 48.89 percent of the colleges applied to were in Utah. Colleges have replied regarding re-garding application to 37.78 percent. The survey indicated 35.56 percent are going to a 4-year college, 24.44 percent to a 2-year college, col-lege, 13.33 to a technical college, 24.44 are not going to college and 2.22 percent are undecided. Nearly 29 percent of the 45 students have taken college extension classes through the S.U.C.C.E. and 17.78 percent plan to take them again. The survey was conducted con-ducted by a journalism student at Grand County High School. |
