Show CITY COUNCIL City Council met in regular session on Thursday Thurs-day with Mayor Hansen, Jim Ramsay, Blaine Silliman, Silli-man, Ray Sherril and Lowell Curtis in attendance. attend-ance. It was a long, well-attended well-attended meeting, with a lot of problems. Mrs. Adrien Taylor from Moab spoke on broadening the tax base for the hospital at Moab, and the matter was taken under advisement. Zoning ordinances occupied oc-cupied some time, with two mobile homes asking for variances to park in R-l zones. Motel 7 has a building permit, but at present there is no way to furnish them with sewer service. This led to a discussion of the sewer east of town, and it was decided to declare a moratorium on building east of River Boulevard until the sewer lines can be repaired and enlarged or both. An amendment to the zoning laws to treat a large motel as a subdivision subdivi-sion as regards sewer and water regulations was proposed. A report on the new airport stated that the runways are all blacktop-ped blacktop-ped and the landing lights are in and working. Lacking are roads to the facility and buildings. The artesian well no longer works, so a source of water will have to be developed, also. Joe Gelo asked about some gravel for the streets and alleys around his trailercourt, and was told that more gravel has been hauled this winter than for the past fifteen years, and some would be provided as soon as possible. There was considerable discussion about the curfew, cur-few, some wanting to abolish it altogether, and some wishing to remove it or put it at a later time on Friday and Sat. nights. |
