Show IMMUNIZATION By Tony Bunce The Utah State Division of Health, along with the schools and local health department, surveyed immunization im-munization levels of all Utah schoolers. This program was being done all over the United States to help students who may be unprotected against serious diseases such as measles, polio, diphtheria, rubella, tetanus, teta-nus, mumps, and whooping whoop-ing cough. The students took home forms for their parents to fill out the immunizations they had received. If the parents couldn't remember remem-ber the shots their children child-ren had, they were asked to call their family doctor or health department from which they had received the shots. It's very important to get all these shots at an early age. Some people think these shots are no longer needed, but these diseases do still exist. If students have not already received these shots, contact con-tact the family doctor, pediutrician, or the health department clinic. The ad- dress of the health depart- ment is 94 East Center, and the phone number is j 259-5602. I |
