Show Opportunities told during 4-H week This is 4-H week. 4-H is cows and cookies and such, but it is also much, much more; it's "Freedom "Free-dom to Be." Are you between nine and nineteen? If so, you are just the right age to join 4-H youth in an educational program of fun, fellowship and preparation prep-aration for the future. . 4-H projects range from traditional agricultural and home economics projects pro-jects to aerospace, community com-munity development and the creative and performing perform-ing arts. 4-H comes in all sizes too. Projects may be taken by individuals, clubs, families and school groups. Have you decided on a career or are you still thinking? 4-H can help on either side of the decision line. You can pursue your career interest or you can explore many different areas to find your interest. Listed below are some projects that are available, however, we can organize a club in any area if there is interest and if we can find a leader. Projects include: Achievement, Automotive, Art, Beading, Bead-ing, Bicycle, Child Care, Clothing, Consumer Education, Edu-cation, Conserving Nat. Resources, Crafts, Crocheting, Cro-cheting, Crops, Dogs, Electricity, Entomology, Foods, Food Preservation, Forestry, Gardening, Geology, Health, Hiking, Home Improvement, Horsemanship, Knitting, Leathercraft, Livestock, Outdoor Cooking, Photography, Pho-tography, Public Speaking, Speak-ing, Quilting, Rabbits, Rocketry, Rocks and Minerals, Min-erals, Safety, Self Deter mined, Tractor, Veterinary Veterin-ary Science, Weeds and Woodworking. In addition to clubs, 4-H uses camp, state and international exchange, special events such as one-on-one basketball, county fair days, etc. to help youths ages nine to nineteen learn practical and personal development skills. For more than 60 years, the 4-H program has helped develop good citizens. citi-zens. This week, March 12-18 is Utah 4-H week, a good time to take note of what 4-H clubs are doing in our county.
