Show Stabbing brings charges against new resident A Colorado woman who recently moved to Moab has been formally charged with attempted second degree murder and aggravated ag-gravated assault in connection con-nection with a stabbing incident involving her common-law husband. Released from Grand County Jail March 14 on a $5,000 bond filed by a licensed bondsman was Alberta Vigil DeCrow, 18. In St. Mary's Hospital, Grand Junction, Co., is Donald Lee DeCrow, 28, who was stabbed in the chest with a broken vodka bottle about 11 p.m. March 10 at Space 257, Holiday Haven, where the couple reside. There were 2 juvenile witnesses at the scene. The victim was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital by ambulance, where e-mergency e-mergency surgery was performed to close a cut artery and remove a piece of broken glass. During surgery, 15 units of blood were needed. Mrs. DeCrow appeared March 13 before City Judge Don Crist for arraignment. Attorney Harry Snow was appointed appoint-ed to represent her and preliminary hearing was set for April 18 at 10 a.m. The attempted murder charge is a 2nd degree felony and . the assault charge is a 3rd degree felony. The couple has two children, a son aged 2 and a daughter age 5 months, who, as of Tuesday, were staying with the defend ant's mother in Carbon-dale, Carbon-dale, Co. Both Mr. and Mrs. DeCrow are from Colorado. He is a coal miner, and they came to Moab because of the coal strike. He was working in the area as a miner. |
