People have been asking j questions about things they didn't understand for thousands of years 1 and in -order to find the answers to these questions they must experi-I experi-I ment and explore. The world I changes in some way when people invent new ways to make their lives j more comfortable. All kinds of new ideas and experiments are waiting in the new handbook to be pursued. I Job exploring for girls of today I helps them get ready for the world I of tomorrow. How does a young girl I of today find out what she wants to I be or do? She has to explore and ! ask questions and then ask some more questions. Some of the answers may make her change her mind, but she will be getting closer to finding out what she wants to be in the world of tomorrow. World of the Arts The World of the Arts brings to mind maybe a painting in a museum or a statue in the park. Things which are part of what is meant by art, but there is much more in the world of art. Art is also seeing, feeling and learning about ourselves and other people. It helps us to learn about the cultures and ways of lives of people living different kinds of lives than our own. Outdoor sculpture can happen in a snow pile or at the sandy beach, but the kind of art that we live with can come from the design of buildings, architecture. The designs of gardens, parks, etc. comes under the art of landscaping. Drama, music, weaving, puppets, dancing and the wonderful world of words (reading) are a small part of the World of the Arts for Brownies to Seniors to help learn about themselves. World of Well-BeinR What is it that mak es people happy and healthy? The answer to this question comes with knowledge. know-ledge. Knowing what you can do well, knowing and sharing your feelings, sharing good times with family and friends, taking care of your body, using your mind and your muscles, using your talents to grow and help others, doing your part at home and in the community, living in a safe and healthy place, being prepared to help others in emergencies and being part of different groups. Some of the chapter headings in the World of Well Being are: Home is a special place. Recipe for health and happiness. Safety sense, the complicated machine of your body. These and many others will enable the girls to learn how to stay pi happy and healthy and help other, stay that way. World of People Our world, everyone's world;, a World of People, another of tK Worlds to Explore for today's Girl Scouts. A baby's world is usual, with just the family and as a child the world grows a bit larger include the world of the neighbor, hood. As a school age youth the world grows even bigger and soon the young adult finds out that it goes all the way around the' earth and includes a lot more people. Juliette Low thought about people in other countries and that is why the Juliette Low World Friendship Fund (JLWFFi .... ' started. The fund makes it possible for older girls from many countries to visit each other and learn more about how children live in different countries. Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world believe thai people are important whether they live in our own country or jj another part of the world. Girl Scouts everywhere are finding wavs to show they really care about people. Everyone wants a better ' world and as the girls learn that when they care more and more about the people in our world, it '! will improve. .
