She was delivered de-livered by her father, manager of the Hite Marina. Mari-na. Assisting the parents were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Freet, park service personnel. per-sonnel. Lark weighed 7 pounds and she and her parents are doing great. Hanksville's population also increased with the arrival of two young ladies. la-dies. Lisa Rasmussen, the third child of Sue and Jim Rasmussen arrived Feb. 12 in Salt Lake City and is now home with her family in Hanksville. Tessa Lane Coon made her debut February 27 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab. She is the second child and first daughter of Robert and Debbie Coon. A tragic accident 15 miles west of Hanksville Thursday sent two Hanksville Hanks-ville women and a small child to the Richfield Hospital. Hos-pital. Mrs. Olaf Wasland and daughter and Mrs. JoAnn Kruckenberg rolled the Wasland '77 Chevy pickup about 1:00 p.m. near the Factory Butte coal road. EMT Bonnie Taylor who was flagging traffic nearby was summoned and she radioed for the ambulance 'at Hanksville that arrived and took them to Richfield. Rich-field. It was learned that Mrs. Kruckenberg was flown to Provo Friday morning. Mrs. Wasland's husband is employed with Hilliard Drilling working near Starr Springs and Mrs. Kruckenberg's Husband, Jiggs, is employed on the Atlas coal operation west of Hanksville. Both women wo-men were seriously injured. in-jured. Ken and Ardell Noyes were the EMT's with the ambulance. Hanksville students participating Friday in the . Wayne School District Spelling Bee at the Wayne Middle School were Leslie Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Brown, Jo Bob Dawson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marty Lampman, Lori Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Campbell, Ronda Gailey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Derk Gerber, Derek Ekker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Ekker, and Darlene Jenkins, foster child of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Noyes. These students were finalists in the previous pre-vious weeks of competition competi-tion before the state meet. Tom Martin, president and organizer of Hanksville's Hanks-ville's Sportsmen's Club has resigned his position in the club this week due to conflict of interest between be-tween his employment, his family and the club activities. Vice-president Steven Hatch will call a special rrteeting this week to elect another officer. Mr. Martin should be commended for the outstanding out-standing work he has done over the past three years. The community and the Boy Scouts have benefitted ben-efitted greatly by his efforts. Frank Hehne, an employee em-ployee of Nuclear Assurance Assur-ance of Atlanta. Georgia and a former Hanksville resident visited friends here last week from his office in Grand Junction. He was accompanied by Allan Tapp, a geologist with Plateau Resources, also from the Grand Jet. offices. Frank and Barbara Bar-bara are awaiting word from Georgia about their adopted child. They will fly to Atlanta to bring the new addition back to their Colorado home. The past week we all read the coverage of "The Longest Walk" of 150 individuals enroute to Washington D.C. A member mem-ber of this group is David Hill, brother of Mrs. Larry (Rita Ann) Ekker, Hanksville. Hanks-ville. David is representing represent-ing the Utah Society for the Survival of the Native American People. David, a Choctaw originally from Oklahoma, stated that the Indians have never had a policy of violence and that the incidents in South Dakota several years ago were the result of FBI and CIA involvement. .
