Show Hearings set on Title XX funds The District 7-A Human Services Council will be conducting public hearings hear-ings on the disbursement of FY-79 Title XX Local Discretionary Funds. Public hearings are scheduled in each of the counties of the district as follows: March 21, Carbon County Courthouse; Mar. 22, Grand County Courthouse; Court-house; and March 23 at the Castle Dale Senior Citizens Center. All of the meetings are going to be held at 6:30 p.m. At issue is the allocation of approximately $126,000 in Title XX funds for use in a variety of local human service programs. To date eight separate agencies have submitted applications applica-tions for funds totaling $162,940. The Council, made up of representatives of each county in the District, is very much in need of grass roots input as to the manner in which available funds should be allocated. Therefore, citizen participation partici-pation at each hearing is strongly encouraged. Agencies submitting requests re-quests for funds and a-mounts a-mounts requested are as follows: senior citizen nutrition programs, $61,000; legal services for the low income, $15,000; Southeastern Utah Alcohol Alco-hol Recovery Center, $11,333; Planned Parenthood Parent-hood for family planning, $20,000; Castle Valley Workshop, $15,837; Allen Memorial Hospital, $7,470; Four Corners Mental Health (for a variety var-iety of programs), $27,300 Carbon County Nursing Home, $5,000; and planning plan-ning at $27,500. |
