Show Call to Scout Convention The process of democratic representation at the National Council session starts early with every Girl Scout leader in the country. The number of delegates any Council can send to the National Council session depends on the number of girls who are registered through the Council as of Dec. 31, 1977. Delegates to the National Council session represent every type of Girl Scout role. Utah's delegates were voted upon at the Annual meeting held last November. Novem-ber. These delegates will have briefing sessions to orient them to the content of the Convention, to help them understand the issues involved and to discuss the Council's position on those issues. While only delegates may vote, any adult member of the Girl Scout movement in the USA is welcome to register for Convention as a visitor. Every adult in Girl Scouting will have much to gain from hearing the discussions in the National Council meetings and from the many informal oppotuni-ties oppotuni-ties to compare ideas, plans and experiences with others. These opportunities are available at meals, waiting in lines, at the exhibit area, and at almost any time delegates and visitors are free to visit with the over 6000 people expected to attend. National Convention of the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. will be held in October of 1978 in the mile-high city of Denver, Colorado. We will give you a complete list of Utah's delegates and visitors from our area who will be going that you may voice any opinions or ideas you might want expressed. |
