A talk on "Your Heart" was given by President Mrs. Fred Elkerkin. A few of the preventative measures she gave were: Those who have a heart ailment should not become be-come too emotionally upset, up-set, do not over-work, and a regular check of your blood pressure is required; requir-ed; walking is one of the required activities and it is necessary to avoid sugar and starch and not to overeat. Proper diet is essential. The local AARP Chapter Chap-ter made a donation to the Andrus Foundation which assists with programs pro-grams to improve the skills of retired persons and see that the elderly have lawyer assistance when necessary, plus many other advantages. Six members will attend a workshop in Provo on March 30. President, Mrs. Elderkin, presented Mr. Harry Austin with his past President's pin in recognition recog-nition of his two years of services to the chapter. |
