Show Another gas hike? ... Utah Gas Service Company is asking for another rate increase and a hearing on the matter will be held May 22 at 2 p.m. in Salt Lake City. Reason given for the application is to offset adjustments in cost of gas purchased from others. The amount of increase reported is .86 cents per therm, effective April 1, 1978. This is a 2.96 per cent increase, which is projected to cost the average residential customer $10.20 per year. Utah Gas, in addition, is requesting additional increases to industrial customers, from 24.69 cents per therm to 25.55 cents per therm. The hearing will be held before the Public Service Commission beginning at 2 p.m. at the commission hearing room, 330 E. 4th South, Salt Lake City. |
