Show Scout Cookies? Here's Where It All Began Many long years ago Girl Scout cookies were all one kind... and here is the original recipe: Cream together 1 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, add 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons milk, 1 tsp. vanilla and 2 cups bread flour that is sifted with Vi tsp. salt and 2 tsp. baking powder. Mix well. Chill 1 hour, roll thin and cut out size of baking powder can cover. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 425 degrees 8 to 10 minutes. Nowadays there are six varieties of Girl Scout Cookies: mints, Savannah (peanut butter), Scot-tea (sugar), chocolate and vanilla cremes, and this year two new varietieschocolate chip and ched-darette ched-darette cracker. Girls have been out since March 3 selling cookies in Utah and if you were missed and would like to place your order please call our Neighborhood Cookie Chairman, Mrs. Billie Carter at 259-6791 today as all sales orders must be turned in to her by the 15th. |
