Show Lots of snow here this year The LaSal Mountains have accumulated 16 inches of water since Oct. 1, the beginning of the water year, according to Kedric Somerville, Soil Conservation Service. Serv-ice. Measurements taken Feb. 27-28, with the assistance of Marrion Miller and Kirk Helquist, revealed that the LaSal lower snow course has 40 inches of snow containing 11.6 inches of water, which is 166 per cent of normal. The upper course has 59 inches of snow containing 16.6 inches of water, or 142 per cent of normal. The Blue Mountains snow survey shows an accumulated average of 12 inches of water since Oct. 1. At the end of February Buckboard Flat had 36 inches of snow containing 10.2 inches of water, which is 102 per cent of normal. Camp Jackson had 44 inches of snow containing 14 inches of water, or 147 per cent of normal. Both mountain ranges received 4.5 inches of moisture during February. At the same time last |
