Educarioii Week In observance of National Ed-" ucatipn Week, Nov. 1 1 to 17, the Roosevelt schools have planned several activities for parents, including in-cluding a back-to-school night at the Jr High School on Nov. 14, and a parents' day at the Elementary Elem-entary and Jr. High Schools on Friday, Nov. 16. The back-to-school night has been arranged for parents of the Roosevelt Jr. High School on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. announced Principal Lawrell Jensen. Jen-sen. A Similar night had been tentatively ten-tatively set by the Elementary School, but due to no lights in the building,' the date had to be postponed. post-poned. The back-to-school night developed devel-oped in schools following the first ed in schools following the first yP-TA meeting of the year, at which time parents expressed the desire for a back-to-school night to give the fathers the opportunity to attend at-tend school as well as mothers. There will be no consultation time allowed at this night meeting. Mr. Jensen stated that ! short classes would be held, including the morning period classes, giving the parents an opportunity to become be-come acquainted with the teaching teach-ing facilities and student requirements require-ments in the various subjects. Engaged En-gaged as the speaker for the short assembly program is J. C. Haws of Vernal, principal of the Ashley Valley Junior High School. ; On Friday, Nov. 16, students of both schools will remain at home, while Mom and Dad go to school. Time will be reserved for parents for consultations at the Elementary school if they so desire. However, parents may visit the teachers at the Jr High School any time during dur-ing the day, according to their convenience. -A hot lunch will be prepared at both schools, so parents may buy their lunch at the school where they happen to be at noon. The Parents' nights have been planned by the principals and the P-TA officers. |
