Show Parents At School Day Is Nov. 14th American Education Week is Nov. 11 to 17. Wednesday, Nov. 14 students will remain home and pare-nts are encouraged to ride the bus and participate in the back to school "parents day." Parents will spend the forenoon in the Elementary Elemen-tary school and the afternoon in the" High School getting an interpretation inter-pretation of the school program. It promises to be better organized than last year and all parents are urged to attend. Mr. Swallow, the elementary principal, has outlined a program as follows: 9:00 Welcome; Three short skits, "You May Quote Me," "What Little Boys Are Made Of," and "Good Schools Are Your Responsibility." Re-sponsibility." will occupy the time until 9:30. Two films "From Sociable Soc-iable Six to Noisy Nine," and "A Feeling of Rejection," will continue until 10:10 after which a general discussion will be held on the behavior pattern of children from 5-12 as brought out in the skits and films. At 10:30 parents will divide into seperate groups to follow a schedule outlined for them to visit different grades and learn their child's curriculum. 11:50 lunch will be served in the lunch room; beginning at 12:20 a typical noon hour film will be shown, entitled, en-titled, "Points East." All parents and interested persons per-sons are invited to attend, whether wheth-er you have children in school or not. TAKE STRAW VOTE The freshman class, 9th grade, held a frolic Friday, Nov. 2. During Dur-ing the course of the evening a straw vote was taken to determine how the students of Altamont are thinking about the national election. ATTEND WORKSHOP Mr. ' and Mrs. Morris Monson drove three days to reach Milwaukee, Mil-waukee, Wis. where he received instruction at a Power Use Workshop Work-shop sponsored by the REA. The highlight of their trip was a scenic drive taken along Lake Michigan. On their return trip they stopped at Hampton, Iowa where Morris visited an REA Co-op and made an j inspection tour with the line foreman fore-man and crew, studying their problems and methods of power distribution. Mrs. Erwin Rust and lwo children, Kent and Susan, visited here for a week staying at the home of Dorothy's parents, and Mrs. Waldo Hansen.
