Show Contest Planned For Scouts In Roosevelt Area In a special two hour meeting of the Rosevelt District Advancement Committee held Thursday, Oct. 25, district court of honor and district board of review schedule for the 1956-57 scouting year, a revised contest for scout troops and explorer ex-plorer posts, and assignments for a six man advancement committee were completed, reports Sharon Cummings, Roosevelt District Advancement Ad-vancement Chairman Courts of Honor have been set up as follows: November 4 at Roosevelt Second Ward, Dec. 2 at Montwel, January 6 at the American Am-erican Legion Hall, February 10 at the Roosevelt Stake Center, March 3 at. the Roosevelt Third Ward, March 31 at Avalon, May 5 at Ballard and June 2 at White-socks. White-socks. July Court of Honor will be held during the. giant four district 6-day camp at Maple Dell near Pay'son, Aug 4 at Roosevelt Ward, September 1 at Ioka and October 6 at Neola. Starting time for each of these Courts of Honor will be 3:00 p.m. 10-Days Ahead District Boards of Review were set for the Wednesday, 10-days prior to each Court of Honor, at 8 p.m. in the Roosevelt Junior High Seminary Building under the direction dir-ection of Robert Steel. Adoption of a revised version of the past advancement Contest met with final approval at the Roosevelt Roose-velt District Committee meeting Sunday, October 28. Main change from previous contest was the giving of 1,000 points - for each advancement in rank and 100 points for each merit badge. Details of the Advancement program pro-gram for the 1956-57 scouting year Will be announced Sunday, November 4, at the Roosevelt monthly District Court of Honor. Five members of the six man Roosevelt 'Advancement committee selected to date are: Sharon Cummings, Cum-mings, chairman; Merlin Killpack;. Richard Steel; Don Simmons, Institutional In-stitutional Representative from the Whiterocks ward and Floyd Wil-kerson, Wil-kerson, Institutional Representative of the Roosevelt Fourth Ward. |
