Show Special Education Plan ieing Set Up Sn Schools Duchesne County School. Dis-trict Dis-trict this week began setting up a new special education program. Mrs. Rosella Johnson has been relieved of her duties as Roosevelt Roose-velt 4th grade teacher, according to Elementary Supervisor Ray Warner, and will spend her full time on the program throughout the county. Mr. Warner and Mrs. Johnson said the special education program pro-gram financed by the state is designed to teach children who are capable of learning but who haven't for some reason The classes are in no way for handicapped children nor does a child's being given special instruction instruc-tion mean that he is handicapped. Mrs. Johnson is working for her degree in special education and Mr. Warner described her as "fully capable" to eliminate learn-barriers learn-barriers that arise in many otherwise other-wise fully noma! children. Mrs. Johnson will set up a schedule of classes in Duchesne and Altamont and later in Roose- V6Her place on the Roosevelt school faculty will be taken by John F. Warner, father of Ray Warner, who is coming out of retirement in California to complete com-plete Mrs. Johnson's year in the school system. |
