Show 'fl DEATHS ROBERT BURTON ALLRED Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p. m. in the Naples Na-ples Ward Chapel, Vernal, ua der the direction of Bish'.p Ashael P.erry of the Moffat Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, for Roo-ert Roo-ert Burton Allred, 82. Uintah Basin pioneer, who died at his home in Gusher Wednesday at 4 p. m. of causes incident to age. He was born March 2, 1869, at Wallsburg, Wasatch , County, a son of James Franklin and Jennie McKenzie Allred. He made his first trip to the Uintah Basin when he was 15 years of age as an independent freighter. He returned to the Basin two years later and settled at Vernal, Ver-nal, where he engaged in freighting freight-ing and raising sheep. He married mar-ried Sylvia Roberts in Vernal May 1. 1900. They moved to Gusher 27 years ago, where he was a farmer. He was a member of the Church of Jesu3 Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by his widow. Gusher, and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Elmer (Theresa) Eaton, Vernal; Mrs. Floyd (Fay) Peterson, Roosevelt; Clyde and Glen Allred. Gusher; 16 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers, Martin Allred, Provo, and George Allred, Wallsburg. Burial will be in the Vernal cemetery, under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary of Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. URIAH MOWREY LAPOINT Funeral services were held Monday for Uriah Mowrey, 83, Uintah Basin farmer farm-er since 1885, who died Feb. 14, at the home a son, Edward Mowrey Mow-rey in Lapoint, of causes incident inci-dent to age. Bishop Lee Walker will officiate of-ficiate at the Lapoint Ward Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Native of Paris, Idaho, he was born Feb. 9, 1869. a son of Harley and Martha Jane Sargent. Sar-gent. He married Geneva Ode-kirk Ode-kirk Feb. 27, 1889, at Vernal. Survivors include five sons: Ed Mowrey, Lapoint; Royce and Roy Mowrey, Vernal; Alvin Mowrey. Tod Park, and Barton Mowrey, Yakima, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella Ding-man, Ding-man, San Francisco, and one brother. C. B. Mowrey, Riverside, River-side, Calif. Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Me-morial cemetery, under the direction di-rection of the Dillman Mortuary Mor-tuary of Roosevelt. |
