Show ROOSEVELT JUNIOR HIGH The very fine performance of our school band on Rural Education Edu-cation Day was praised by Mr. Tietjen, our band director. It was foxind that our band has as many members as the average av-erage band in the Uintah Basin. The band students have expressed ex-pressed the desire to have more activities similar to those which took place last Saturday on Rural Education Day. Beema Young has been elected elect-ed our first Riderette president, with Dorthy Dillman as vice president; Marge Linck. secretary; secre-tary; and Ardis Zirker, reporter. One of the most hilarious assemblies as-semblies held this year was presented pre-sented to the student body by the Riderette Club. Roars of laughter were heard as members of the - club initiated the team and Mr. Tietjen's school band. Alice Smith sang the theme song, "I Want to be a Cowboy's Sweetheart," while other events on the assembly program were dances, songs, readings, musical mus-ical numbers, and a quiz show to top it all off. The Roosevelt Junior High 8th grade basketball team beat Alterra with a score of 16-28 on Feb. 14. The game was- played in the Roosevelt school gym.
