Show This Week's RECIPE . . . Mrs. A. L. Norman has submitted sub-mitted a never fail pie crust recipe and a delicious lemon chifion pie recipe this week for the paper. Never-Fail Pie Crusi 2V cups sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 cup shortening V2 cup cold water. Sift dry ingredients, then mix with shortening in usual manner. man-ner. Add water. Recipe makes three, pie shells, or one two-crust pie and one shell. Lemon Chiffon Pie Juice of 1 lemon 3 tsp. warm water 2 cup sugar 3 egg yolks Combine above ingredients and cook in top of double boiler until clear and smooth. . Beat 3 egg whites with pinch of salt. Add gradually V4 cup sugar. Fold hot mixture slowly into whites. Pour into baked pie shell snd brown lightly in oven. (Makes1 one pie) |
