Show Massed Bands Top Feature At Education Confab The first mass band concert in the history of the Uintah Basin was presented at Union High School Saturday. Feb. 10, as the highlight of the Rural Education Conference. The combined bands met at the high school Saturday morning morn-ing and rehearsed throughout the day, before presenting their seven numbers in the concert in the evening. Numbers were directed by the music directors of the several high schools Lloyd N. Beckstead, Duchesne; Lorin Allred, Altamont; Grant Peel, Tabiona; Garth Tietien. Roosevelt Jr. High; Clyde Johnson, John-son, Union; and Lawrence Lie", Uintah. The students felt that their efforts were well rewarded and look forward to making an annual an-nual event of this program, said Mr. Beckstead in reporting his extreme pleasure at the success suc-cess of the concert. |
