Show Rev. Chase Named At Com. Church The Rev. Peter Chase will begin his duties at the Bountiful Bounti-ful Community Church on Aug. 1. He will be an assistant to Rev. Don Proctor in the church and will serve the Episcopal Epis-copal congregation as well. ORIGINALLY from the Boston, Mass. area, Peter studied stu-died language and Italian history his-tory at the University of Italy in Perugia for a year. He graduated gradu-ated from Bishop's University, Universi-ty, Lennoxville, Quebec, in 1971 with a B.A. degree in philosophy phi-losophy and religion. While in college, he served as a lay reader and supply lay minister in the Diocese of Quebec and in Vermont and New Hampshire. Hamp-shire. After his graduation, he worked as a civilian consultant to the U.S. Navy Chaplains Corps where he was involved in the organization and implementation im-plementation of special ministries minis-tries and activities within the Corps. AFTER graduation from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in 1980, with a M. Div. degree, Peter has been an assistant to the rector, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Saratoga, Calif. At St. Andrew's, Peter was principally princip-ally concerned with youth ministry, but is also involved with all other facets of church worship and work. While in San Diego, Calif., Peter met and married Abbie Gowdy-Chase in 1977. She also comes from New England. Eng-land. Abbie is a flight attendant with Western Airlines in Salt Lake City, and has been em- f I " j PETER CHASE ployed with Western Airlines for the past 12 years. Among her other skills, she has had experience with large scale food management. She and Peter Pe-ter share interests in landscape gardening, hiking and cooking, but the "light of our life" for both, is Gaelan Gowdy-Chase, their young daughter, who will be one year old on July 24. THE SUMMER schedule will continue through Labor Day, Rev. Proctor said. Both congregations meet together at 10 a.m. each Sunday for services. ser-vices.
