Show West Bountiful By ALICE MITCHELL People like to read about heroes in mythology. They also love to hear about the heroes in the sports fields. They are excited about scouts who rescue people from drowning. They admire their favorite stars of the movies and television. This past week a real hero died in the community of West Bountiful. He was Reed Pratt, who has been in a wheelchair for 18 years. He was born a normal child and grew up to be a tree surgeon. One day he fell from the tree and was injured from the stomach down. When he left the hospital there were months of recuperation. He learned to drive with his specially spe-cially equipped automobile. He and his wife joined in with all the activities they could in which their children participated. Reed coached softball teams and helped his children in many ways. He worked as an insurance agent and supported his family as well as possible. He always had a smile. He learned to be a champion chess player and taught his son to follow in his footsteps. Mary Watts, who just returned re-turned from an extended stay in California, attended the farewell of her grandson, Spencer Watts of Kaysville. The Arch Widdisons announce the birth of a baby girl born to Monte and Diane. Arch Widdison's brothers and sisters have special home evenings. The past week they went bicycling.
