Show 24th Recreational Events Bountitul Uty Recreation is planning several events to celebrate July 24. BEGINNING Wednesday, July 20, there will be a mens slowpitch softball tournament sponsored by Coca Cola and Sunset Sports. It will be held at the 400 North diamond and at' Rocket Park. Teams from Ogden, Davis, and Salt Lake counties will be competing for a berth to the Class "C" National Na-tional Tournament to be held in Ogden in September. They will play Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and all day Saturday and Mon-day, Mon-day, July 24. There is no admission charge to spectators so come and enjoy the fun. ON SATURDAY, July 23, the city will sponsor a horses-toe horses-toe tournament at 9 a.m. at the horseshoe pits by the Recreation Recrea-tion Center. There will be an adult and youth division with trophies to the first and second place finishers. The competition competi-tion is free and you can sign up at the pits that morning. Free swim will be held at the outdoor pool from 9-11 a.m. and they will have swim races from 11-1 p.m. The regular pool hours are 1-9 p.m. A SKATING exhibition will be put on by the Utah Figure Skating Club from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Bountiful Ice arena. This is free to the public. From 3-5 p.m. there will be a public skating skat-ing session. Everyone can skate for $1 including skate rental. A home run hitting contest will be held on Saturday, July 23 from 1-3 p.m. at the 400 North Diamond. The cost to enter is $3 per team. This is sponsored by Sunset Sports Center and fabulous prizes will be awarded to the winners. A BATTLE of the Bands will be held on Friday night, July 22, at 8 p.m. at the 400 North Diamond. There will be no charge and it should be a fun evening for everyone after the city parade. Come and enjoy all the city 24th of July festivities. For more information phone 298-6120. |
