Show Six City Run Eighty-five runners lined up in North Salt Lake Saturday morning to begin the 12.43 mile trek to Farmington in the fifth annual Six Cities Run. NEW RECORDS for the course were set this year by both the men's and women's winners. Steve Travis led all the finishers with a time of 1:06:55 for the 20,000 meter distance. Barb Eastman was 13th overall, shattering the old women's record by better than five and one-half one-half minutes with a time of 1:21:34. THE BRISK fall morning temperatures were ideal for a distance run, and ths event went generally smooth. There was a minor mishap when the lead runners went off course at the intersection of 500 S. and 800 W. The police were a few moments late directing direct-ing traffic there. Several of the runners had to wait for trains in West Bountiful, but some indicated that they needed the rest. COMPLETE RACE results are posted at De- Boer's Running Store at 167 S. Main (upstairs) in Bountiful. |
