K.D. Simpson, commander of the j paramedics, said both the paramedics I rescue truck and a 4-wheel drive vehicle I bogged down and Life Flight was called. . "Boren was reported to be unconscious in j the boat and we had to get to him fast," i said Lt. Simpson. He said Paramedic Layne Farr trudged 1 through the marshes and located the boat j drifting about 100 feet offshore. Paramedic ! Mark West was picked up by the helicopter and airlifted to the site of the drifting craft. W est was then lowered into j the water and assisted Farr in lifting the ) unconscious youth on their shoulders as i the helicopter hovered inches above and I the flight nurse w as able to grab Boren and I lift him into the chopper. Boren was i reported in "good" condition at a Salt i Lake Hospital Tuesday morning. |
