Show Building Relationships In The Family Relationships within the family arc the building blocks upon which families are based and are a crucial factor in providing pro-viding children with the foundation found-ation which enables them to do well in situations outside the safety and shelter of the home environment. LOVE, communication, responsibility, re-sponsibility, discipline, work and faith, are all ingredients which help develop healthy family relationships and will be the topic for discussion at the third presentation of the "Parenting in the 80's" series. The program will feature Dr. Richard Chidester. He will be addressing "Encounters of the Best Kind: Improving Family Relationships." Dr. Chidester holds a PhD from Brigham Young University in marriage and family counseling. He is the director of the seminary program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He maintains a private practice in marriage and family counseling and is well known in the Davis area for his work in this field. Dr. Chidester brings with him much practical experience as he is married and the father of eight children. chil-dren. THE MEETING will take place Wednesday, Nov. 2 at the Farmington Jr. High, 160 S. 200 W., Farmington. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend and there will be an admittance fee of $2 per person or $3 per couple. The "Parenting in the 80's" series will continue throughout through-out the remainder of the school year, with a program being presented each month with the exception of December. The series is co-sponsored by the Davis School District's Parent Education Resource Center and the Davis Region PTA. A variety of subject pertinent to parents and the welfare of the family will be presented as the year progresses. |
