Show Production Record Made by Cow In Swenson Herd A registered Holstein cow owned own-ed by John Y. Swenson, Pleasant Grove, has shattered an all-time Utah production record on Herd Improvement Registry test. The Holstein-Friesian Association Associa-tion of America reports that Veiby Inka De Kol Speck 3972070 established es-tablished a new high for Senior three-year-olds milked twice daily in the HIR program. Her official 365-day prodcution totalled 23,601 lbs. milk and 811 lbs. of butterfat. Weighing and testing were supervised by Utah State Agricultural College working work-ing in close cooperation with the national Holstein organization. Veiby Inka De Kol Speck was bred by Ezra J. Swenson. She is the daughter of Burkgov Inka de Kol 1038509 (EX) a Gold Medal Sire. The Herd Improvement Registry Program, commonly referred to as HIR, has been In continuous operation oper-ation since 1928. It provides individual indivi-dual lactation and lifetime records on every cow in participating registered reg-istered Holstein herds. |
