Show Teacher association elects new officers Betsy Bacon and Ten Wiss will lead the Park City Education Association (PCEA) as co-presidents next year. Bacon teaches fourth grade at Parley's Park Elementary School and has been a member of the teacher's association for 10 years. Wiss is a third grade teacher at the elementary school. It is not the first year the group has chosen to elect co-presidents. Last year Sue Worley and Sharon Richards held the position and Bacon said, "The sharing of responsibility has been very beneficial." Bacon added her goal as, co-president will be to "bridge " the gap between administrators and teachers in the district." "I would also like to do something to help clear up the dissention surrounding the career ladders. "In order to make it work we will have to work closely and amicably with the administration," Bacon said. The association also elected Sally Jepson and Jim Fleming to share the vice-president's title. Both are on the faculty of the Treasure Mountain Middle School. Gale Birch of Parley's Park Elementary School will fill the secretarial role and Randy Godfrey, who teaches English at Park City High School, will take over as treasurer. "Every year the Park City School District gets better and better, " said Bacon, adding that "every year we ask more of the teachers and they give more than 100 percent." |
