It's called "A Picnic in the Park." Beginning at 1 p.m., models will display the top fashions for any season from one of the most fashionable four-season shops in town, Cole Sport. For just $8, guests can enjoy a picnic lunch and other refreshments along with door prizes and various surprises. . The chairman for the show is Ve Dawson, who is part of. the management team at Cole Sport. She has carefully selected fashions from top names like Putomayo of New York, Ellesse and Esprit that will be worn by some of the best-known bodies in town. "We're planning a fun afternoon . that will give guests a preview of what's ahead in fashion as well as show them some of this season's hottest looks," said Dawson. "This is a fundraiser for the Art Center. We hope to be able to raise enough money to purchase new patio furniture for the courtyard for the enjoyment of all members and non-members this summer." And don't expect all the models to be hard bellied blondes under 18 years old. Some of those blondes will be bare-chested in other words, they're males. And well-known local tennis players, golfers and writers will be seen in styles that suit their various figures and personalities. A Picnic in the Park will spread its wares June 12 at the Kimball Art Center. For more information or tickets call 649-8882. Lynn Hughes models a summer frock from Cole Sport. 11 |
