Show KPCW summer pledge drive promises plenty of premiums The "New 92" is about to give away Park City. Next Monday, July 30, KPCW begins its annual summer pledge drive. This year over $10,000 in merchandise donated by Park City businesses will be available as premiums to those calling in pledges, according to General Manager Blair Feulner. In keeping with the theme, "KPCW gives as good as it gets," the retail value on most of the premiums will be the same as the amount contributed to the station, Feulner said. Touch-tone telephones are expected to be the hottest item, since everyone is now paying rental on phones they don't own, he said. For a $30 contribution, listeners will-get a phone that retails for the same amount. "Better yet," Feulner confided, "KPCW will reveal the well-kept secret of how you go about giving your old phone back to AT&T. "Other great deals include a balloon ride and continental breakfast for $50, or two mountain bike rentals and a picnic lunch from Food for Thought," he said. For golfers the Park Meadows Country Club has donated two passes, cart rental, golf ball and a pack of tees for a $100 contribution . If golf isn't your bag, a $100 contribution will also get you two consultations and hair designstyles from Studio 613, a $90 retail value, according to Feulner. "Other great premiums include Centennial belt buckles from the Family Jewels, five-day memberships at the Prospector Athletic Club, gourmet picnics from Central Check-In Deli, full-meal full-meal deals from Dairy Queen, and rides on the Alpine Slide, Heber Creeper or Snowbird Tram,"" he said. In addition see the ad in this week's Record KPCW will be offering several thousand dollars in incentive premiums for those who increase their contributions this summer. The' reason is that this will be the last time until the summer of 1985 that KPCW will be having a pledge drive, Feulner explained. "This past winter's auction was so successful that the station will only ask pledges from its listeners once a year, he said. "KPCW continues to be the most cost-effective contribution you can make," he maintained. "Last year it cost our average contributor less than two cents per day for 6,895 hours of commercial-free news, information and music." KPCW plans other improvements in its programming this year as well as a move to the Marsac Municipal Building this fall. |
