Show ' : . photos by David Hampshire It was a Toco' concert, all right If-you look in your Spanish-English dictionary you'll find that "poco" is an adjective meaning little or small. So you shouldn't be too surprised to learn that the Poco conceri at ParkWest Tuesday afternoon lasted only half an hour. The villain, once again, was the weather which has plagued efforts by United Concerts of Salt Lake City to hold outdoor events on the slopes at ParkWest. Poco had been on stage barely an hour when a thunderstorm sent the band for cover and forced spectators to stay dry using every means available. Two resourceful fans were seen huddling under a relish table from a nearby hot dog stand. Others shivered under soggy blankets. Another popular spot was the beer concession, which had its own awning. Also due to appear at the Pioneer Day concert was the group America. As the rain continued, drenched fans began to stream toward their cars. After a delay of more than an hour, the few remaining diehards were told that the concert would have to be rescheduled. A spokesman for United Concerts said Wednesday that a decision had not been made on a place or date. Salt Lake fans returning home from the concert found the thunderstorms had not touched the valley. However, the Park City weather station reported that more than nine tenths of an inch had fallen between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. If u j H I .) JZY - y ' K ill 4 ' ,V t 7y .-rnjt " " - w. l'T ?ll i I V V |
