Show Old Town residents receive Art Festival parking permits During the Park City Art Festival on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 4 -1 and 5, a parking permit system will be used to reduce congestion, especially in the Historic Main Street District. Merchants and residents who need access to the area south of the Park City Ski Area (Old Town and Deer Valley) should have received permits, according to Festival Director Sean Toomey. Toomey said these permits should be used only for access to businesses or residences not for access to the Festival. Free shuttle buses will be available for transportation to the Festival. Residents and merchants are encouraged to use the buses rather than private vehicles whenever possible. For those needing access to the Historic Main Street District, a oneway one-way route through the district is shown on the back of the permit, Toomey said. A special permit is required for access to Swede Alley from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the Festival. Main Street will be closed to vehicles from 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 until 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The permit system is necessary for the safety and convenience of everyone, Toomey said. If you have any questions or have a legitimate need for more permits, please call the Festival Office at 649-8882. The Park City Art Festival is produced by the Kimball Art Center. |
