Show Rosecrans takes low gross in men's golf Unlike the Ladies' Golf Association play the day before which was dominated by four players, many members of the Park City Men's Association offered tough competition last Wednesday evening at the Park City Municipal Golf Course. Doug Rosecrans emerged as the nearest likeness to a local Jack Nicklaus, shooting a fine 38 to take low gross honors. But hot on Rosecrans' trail was a trio of drivers Larry Forsgren, Jack Burnett and Mark Walker all at 39. And as if that weren't close enough, a quartet of smashers Rich Cropper, Sam Circo, John Haynes and Bob Logefeil sat back looking hungry at 40. Of course, you wouldn't expect the handicapped scores to be any less close. Kent Child and J.D. Christensen tied for the top spot at the adjusted score of 31. Back a bit, but still close enough for a cigar, were Phil Kohler, Mike Cornu and Don Hutchison at 34.5. |
