Agee and a jury on a statutory charge, pleaded today, like a 16-year-old boy caught in mischief, that he was absolutely abso-lutely Innocent; that he was stupefied by whiskey and had no recollection of going into the house where the police po-lice found him. Murdock's contrite explanation and the eloquent pleas in his behalf by former Judge Nathan J. Harris, con- stituted a solemn sermon onthe danger dan-ger of the "first" drink. The defendant remembered that while he was drunk he was attended by a stranger whom he met in a saloon, sa-loon, who, presumably, led him into the house, where the circumstances, as found by the police, had the appearance appear-ance of evil Several witnesses attested the truth of Murdock's explanation regarding his helpless condition on that occasion and his previous good record and character. charac-ter.
