Shorts who tried to cover found the market bare of offerings and were forced to raise bids with stunning swiftness. Eager payment of premiums for cash wheat for milling and export seemed to preclude any chance of liberal deliveries de-liveries on May contracts and appeared to be a cause of increasing anxiety to bears. Realizing sales by holders developed de-veloped somewhat on the bulge, but led to only moderate reactions in values. val-ues.
