Show DEER OF FLOODS HAS IDW PISSED That the danger of floods In the Ogden Og-den river bottom lands has passed, is the opinion of residents of Ogden valley, val-ley, and others familiar with conditions condi-tions in the territory from which this stream In past years has gathered its flood waters. This news will be welcomed wel-comed by truck farmers in the Glasgow Glas-gow addition and residents of the city west of Washington avenue whose property was damaged last year. Snow patches in Huntsvillc are now tho exception, rather than the rule and the valley people are rejoicing at the early possibility of putting in their crops. Range feed for cattle and sheep Is beginning to come Into sight, but the effectB of tho long winter on the live stock ls not yet fully spent. The vitality of tho range stock has been sorely tried, and it is probable that many sheep and cattle will succumb' before strengthening feed is plentiful. The river channel in Ogden canyon ls at present easily carrying off the melting snows from the valley and adjacent ad-jacent mountain-sides, but it is improbable improb-able that mid-summer tourists will be able to glimpse a portion of the big slides that delayed traffic on the Huntsville line of the Ogden, Logan & Idaho railroad several times this winter. According to an old resident, a snowslide of large proportions in Ogden canyon has never been known to inovo a second time, but melts away as summer advances. .nn |
