Show FRANK L WEAVER MINUS TWO VALUABLE DIAMOND RINGS 4 circus employed lost them and A teamster is held on suspicion of having them from saturdays standard frank L weaver one 0 the performers connected with the barnum baileys shows had the misfortune to lose two rings somewhere about the show grounds about yesterday morning one ring was a five and a half carat diamond valued at the other being valued at 20 was set with three sapphires sapp hires and two diamonds it appears that weaver who claims to be a watchmaker and jeweler by trade and whose home is in baltimore had invested about alf of his savings in the diamond ring yesterday morning while weaver was doing somi work about the grounds he took tho rings from his fingers and placed them upon his watch chain later on he undid the one end of the chain from his trousers forgetting all about the rings which fell to the ground A short time afterward weaver discovered his loss and for a greater part of afternoon ha had the circus employed emp loyes and others engaged in looking for the without results of any kind at first it was reported that the rings had been stolen from the mans dressing room which it was claimed he had left for a short time this however was emphatically denied by weaver when ho reported the matter to the police G W kelley one of the teamsters for the circus was arrested by officer burke and landed at the city basille bas shortly after 12 this morning and it is supposed that kelley has some knowledge of the whereabouts of the missing gems kelley left the employ of the show here after he had finished assisting the to load and he was at once arrested and taken to the station house |
