Show BY JOEY SASSO CONFIDENTIAL RFPORT: "It looks like another classic example of winning the battle but losing the war," an ABC-TV executive confides. He's referring to the out-of-court settlement that paved the way for blonde sex goddess Farrah Fawcett to return to 'Charlie's Angels' this fall as a guest star. "On the surface it appears ABC and Spelling Goldberg (the producers of the show) are the big winners, since Farrah will guest star on three episodes of the show this season and three more in 1979. But from what I've seen and heard from others, who either work on 'Charlie's Angels' or are close to Jaclyn (Smith), Kate (Jackton) and Cheryl (Ladd), ABC's problems are just beginning. It would be an understatement to say the three existing angels are furious over the decision. I heard Kate was so upset when the producers told her of Farrah's return that she tried to rip the phone out of the wall, screaming, 'I won't work with that witch.' Although Jaclyn and Cheryl apparently took the news a little more calmly, they were also visibly angered by the decision . . . 'The Young and the Restless' star Jaime Lyn Bauer was restless after only 1 1 months of marriage to psychologist Richard Goldstein, so she's divorcing him. Friends reveal the shrink was jealous of their new baby boy! . . . 'Family's' Krlsty McNichol flew to Washington. D.C., for lunch with the First Family. Amy Carter invited her, confessing she's Kristy's best fan! INSIDE THE TUBE: Robert Blake is delighted 'Baretta's' cancelled. He's been miserable since his wife Sondra left him. But without the show responsibilities, he's dating her again and taking her to exotic tropical vacation spots. His motorcycle-riding days with Lesley Ann Warren are over . . Herve Villechalze, who plays Tattoo, Ricardo Montalban' hilarious assistant on 'Fantasy Island,' has refused acting jobs which capitalize on his size. "Producers want me to play circus performers or elves," Herve reveals. "I told them, 'I'm an actor, I want to act.' "... Ex-beatle drummer Rlngo Starr is flying high lately thanks to his recent TV special, which helped sell an extra $1 million worth of record albums. Ringo, 37, has also been lucky in love, frequently getting it on with 'Star Wars' princess Carrie Fiher, 20, who played his girlfriend on his special. TV BACKSTAGE: While in Lake Tahoe, Sammy Davit Jr. wined and dined ex-wife Mai Brltt, whom he hadn't seen in years. But the current Mrs. D., AltovUe, didn't worry she was right there with them. In fact when Sammy had to leave to catch a plane, the two women stayed on, gabbing half the night away . . . Teenage idol Lelf Garrett came back from a concert tour of Australia with his right arm in a sling. It seems he suffered a dislocated shoulder in a near-riot at one of his appearances. At the end of the show, police were escorting him from the stage when a half-dozen girls grabbed for his arm and wouldn't let go . . . 'Three's Company' star Joyce DeWitt still wants out. She's mad because Suzanne Somers gets all the publicity. Norman Fell, who plays the landlord Stanley Roper, also demanded a juicier role or he'll quit too. He's tired of doing all the show's publicity tours when Suzanne, Joyce and John Rltter are "too tired." . . . Shecky Greene'f Las Vegas act was taped by Home Box Office at the MGM Grand Hotel late last year. Shecky was named 1976 Comedian of the Year and was nominated again in 1977. 'The King of Comedy,' as Bob Hope called him, will grace the Home Box Office screen on Tuesday, June 27. |
