Show 4-Hers attend Health Conference Health." 4-Hers attended tours at the College for Alcoholism, Odyssey House of Utah, State Laboratory, University Medical Center, LDS Hospital, Columbus Community Center, and the Cardiovasular Laboratory at the University of Utah. The Conference concluded by counties throughout the state receiving Community Pride Grant Awards awarded by Chevron USA. Iron County has received a $50 grant to pursue some educational programs on "The Effects of Alcoholism on Teen Agers". Jennifer Hunter is the chairman of this committee. "Silence is the mother of truth." Benjamin Disraeli 4-Hers from Utah recently attended a Community Pride Health Conference in Salt Lake City at Westminster West-minster College. Those attending from Iron County were Jennifer Hunter, Tena Esplin, Les Scott, DeAnn Robinson and Marva Esplin, USU Extension Agent for Iron County. Conference objectives were to increase health consciousness for all who attended, provided first- hand experience in health related fields, to acquaint participants with a variety of health dimensions that could become Community Pride projects back home, to explore community health resources and facilities and their relationships to education and careers, to have an opportunity to meet new friends and have fun. These objectives were met by 4-Hers and leaders attending at-tending sessions on "The Important Dimensions of Health", "All About Blood", "Your Personal Health Profile", "Here's to Your Health", "Your Weight, Chance or Choice", "Muscle Mania", "Problems with Poisons", "Coping with Life on the Run", "Why People Go Looney", "The Importance Im-portance of Sleep to Your Health", "Emergency |
