Show YCC Program atZion Canyon For the second year the National Park Service will have a Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program at Zion National Park, announced an-nounced Park Superintendent Superin-tendent Robert C. Ileyder. The program has three equally important objectives: ob-jectives: 1. To provide gainful employment for 15 through 18 year old males and females from all social, economic, ethnic and racial backgrounds. 2. To accomplish needed conservation work on public lands. 3. To develop an understanding un-derstanding and appreciation ap-preciation of the natural environment. The eight week program will begin June 19lh. The non-resident camp will draw participants from nearby communities. The program will provide employment for twenty-two local youth. The YCC staff members are Terri Martin, Camp Director; Holly Rasche, Environmental Education Coordinator; Steve Eberhard and Bill Coons, Work Leaders. The program will end August 11. |
