I Last week's action, , Tuesday, June 13, saw the Cubs defeat the Braves 15 to 7. Winning pitchers were , Travis Griffiths and Neil Orton. Losing pitchers were . Scott Stubbs, Cleon Lawrence and Kevin Orton. Hitting for the Cubs were Travis Griffiths with a double and a single; Matt LeFevre with a triple and two singles; Mike Rogerson with a triple; Preston Griff itlis with a double; and Bill Riggs and Neil Orton both with singles. Hitting for the Braves were Layne . Dalton and Kevin Orton, both with doubles; and Scott Stubbs, Devon Lawrence and Sharrisa Thronton all with singles. On Wednesday, June 14, the Mets held out to beat the Dodgers in a 12 to 11 thriller. Winning pitchers were Darron Jones and Tony Orton. Losing pitchers were Shawn Spendlove and Ranee Bess. Hitting for the Mets were Tony Orton with a double; Kirt Green, Mark Robinson, and Darron Jones, each with two singles; and Blake Bentley with another single. Hitting for the Dodgers were Tawnya Heap, Shawn Spendlove and Darold Davis with singles. On Thursday, June 15, the Braves and Reds played to" a ; 9-9 tie. The game was called READY FOR ACTION. On June 23, the Reds play the Dodgers. On June 24, the Cubs meet the Mets. On June 27, the Mets again, this time vs. the Reds. On June 28, the Braves vs the Cubs. because of time with the Braves pitchers Dan Robinson, Kevin Orton and Cleon Lawrence and Reds pitchers Matt Austin and Shawn Robb. Hitting for the Braves were Dan Robinson with a triple and a single; Layne Dalton with a double and a single; Kevin Orton with a double; and Scott Stubbs and Kristen Allen both with singles. Hitting for the Reds were Damon Green with two doubles, a triple and a single; Alan Hanks with two singles, Shawn Robb with two singles; Alisa Jo Robb with a triple; and Scott Farrow with a single. On Friday, June 16, the Dodgers were in another close game, this time with the Cubs. The Cubs outlasted the young Dodgers and defeated them 11-9. Winning pitchers were Mike Rogerson, Preston Griffiths, and Neil Orton. Losing pitchers were Shawn Spendlove and Ranee Bess. Hitting for the Cubs was Neil Orton with a double and two singles; Mike Rogerson with a double and two singles; and Bill Riggs with a double. Hitting for the Dodgers were Tawnya Heap and Tricia Bentley, each with a single. Saturday, June 17, showed the Reds beating the Mets 9- . 4. Winning pitchers were Matt Austin and Shawn Robb. Losing pitchers were Darron Jones and Tony Orton. Scott Farrow hit a double and single and Matt Austin hit a single for the Cubs. Hitting for the Mets were Darron Jones with two singles, Mary Jerome with a double, and Kirt Green, Shayne Jones, and Blake Bentley each with singles. On June 22, the Mets meet the Braves. |
