Laca Hunt, lesee of the Rest Home again requested that the Commission place a fence around the property. The Commission also heard a letter from Parowan Mayor James C. Robinson representing the view of the Parowan City Beautification Committee Com-mittee that a fence be installed only under certain conditions. The interaction in-teraction produced little results ex-cepth ex-cepth that Mrs. Hunt is convinced in her request and that the Commission is still not ready to concede that a fence is necessary. Absence Approved A request was approved by Commissioners Com-missioners Grant Seaman and Cleo Wood allowing for the absence for over 30 days of Commissioner James C. Clark while he pursues employment em-ployment in California. The request was in compliance with the law and will allow Commissioner Clark to continue to serve once his temporary work assignment out-of-state is completed. An application by D & O Sanitation for a County Truck to haul slag from the mine at Iron Springs to the garbage gar-bage pit was heard. The Commission authorized County Supervisor to make the equipment available with driver at cost. Authorization to install a hazard panel on a culvert on Highway 91 north of Kanarra was approved at the request of County Road Supervisor Lynn Fiack. Right-of-way Ordinance The County also considered an ordinance on right-of-way encroachment. en-croachment. The ordinance was delayed in order for County Attorney Hans Chamberlain to provide additional ad-ditional protection to the county where sprinklers are overshooting and causing damage to county roads. Consideration was given to a request from Leo Gardner of the Escalante Valley for the need for quick response fire capabilities for the area. Haldow E. Christensen reported to the Commission that hose and nozzles would be ordered to be made available to the Escalante Valley and also that a one-ton- truck was in the process of being converted for fire use and would be available. As to housing, the Commission indicated that they were considering the construction con-struction of a county road equipment shed in the valley and might be able to provide housing for fire equipment. No formal action was taken, however. A request by Gardner for assistance to provide needed repairs on the Escalante Valley was deferred until after the distribution of funds through the county recreation committee had been completed.
