Show South Water Lines Break The Cedar City Water Department spent most of the weekend repairing breaks in the Water collection system at Shurtz Canyon. Utility Director Bud Bauer indicated that most of the South system experienced low water pressure over the weekend as a result of the break. Without the full water from Shurtz Canyon it was impossible to keep the South system and the South tanks completely full by normal pumping of the Quitichapa wells. Crews experienced 42 hours of overtime Saturday afternoon and evening repairing the damaged lines and water service was restored to normal by late Sunday afternoon. Cedar City officials announced that there is no danger to the water supply as a result of the breakage but that the South system could experience small amounts of air for a short time. |
