Mrs. Kenneth Rowley and her i mother, Mrs. Thelda Hyatt of j Parowan enjoyed a trip to Beryl i during the week where they . i visited with Mr. and Mrs. j Quenton Bowler. - By Donna Davenport Mr. and Mrs. Victor Smith and family members, Elder Wesley Smith, Bruce and Lori of Ogden were here to spend the weekend recently with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith. While here Elder Smith reported his recent LDS mission to Taiwan in Sacrament meeting. Many friends and relatives from here and surrounding communities were in attendance for the very special occasion. Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund were here from Paragonah and accompanied by Mrs. LaGrand Robb. Mr. and Mrs. Ricke Edwards and three children came from Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Dee El Stapley, Darren and Michael traveled to ' Logan last weekend where they visited with their daughter I DeAnn who is attending school at ; ' Utah State University. Miss Denise Prince, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Prince is " in school at Provo Tech this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lamoreaux of Paragonah visited . here one evening last week with a t brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Jay Davenport. Mrs. Mitchell Robinson of Enoch, Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Goodwin and daughter, Mrs. Cora Lee Jackson, and many others of Cedar City and Parowan enjoyed the very interesting in-teresting talk. Monday, September 20 was a special clean-up day for our community. Nearly every able bodied person joined in the beautification efforts for this Bicentennial year. That evening when the job was completed a Ward Home Evening was enjoyed when Bishop Frank Dalley and his wife Mary generously prepared and served root beer, sloppy Joe's and ice cream to everyone at their home. Our Ward has a new Relief Society Presidency, Mary Lawrence, president with Margy Allton and Rene Dalley as counselors. Mary Dalley will continue to serve as secretary. The fall social and homemaking lesson given by Billye Humpherys and Alice Walker were combined last Tuesday, a heritage arts display was enjoyed with . numerous items both old and new filled the Cultural Hall and Relief Society room and was most interesting. President Mary Lawrence was in charge of the program with a double trio consisting of Rene 1 Dalley Carin Humpherys, Darlene Rowley, Lydia Morton, Margy Allton and Ruth R. Dalley accompanied by Sylva Stapley furnished the music and a fine tribute was given by Mary Dalley to the out-going Relief i Society Presidency. President ' Shirley White; Mafy Lawrence and Darlene Rowley who were also presented gifts. Delicious refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Humpherys Hum-pherys have received word of the safe arrival of their daughter and family Mrs. Kent Larkin, Kor-tenai Kor-tenai Kai and Kammeri in Okinawa, Japan where they |
