Show Lions Club observes Service Day The Cedar City Lions Club is observing World Lions Service Day, Friday October 8, it was announced by Lions president Scott Turner. On that day, more than 1,000,000 Lions all over the world will unite in a single purpose: To serve the needy and the lonely. Twenty nine thousand Lions Clubs will gather in their communities com-munities in order to perform a special act of service to the citizens of their locale. Ross Glass of the Cedar City Lions will entertain at the Cedar Manor Nursing Home by playing the organ. A delicious fruit basket will also be given to the members of the home. "All Lions Club members will visit the elderly, shut-ins and home bound for the purpose of cheering up and letting these special persons know that the Lions demonstrate true committment com-mittment to community betterment bet-terment and service activities," Turner said. If the major oil companies are broken up, there are predictions pred-ictions that the price we will pay for gasoline and oil will go up. Many letters are going to congressmen and senators on this and similar facts. Many people feel that a citizen's obligation is not just to vote but also to write to our legislators. I |
