Here Dart runner goes over two Cedar High defenders for short gain. Davis Darts roll over Redmen 34-7 tally of the game for the Redmen and Joe Wells booted the extra point. On the next series of plays the Redmen held the Darts but on a fumble on the punt the Darts regained posession on the Redmen 20 with 1:50 remaining in the game. On three plays they took the ball in for another score and a convincing victory over the Redmen 34-7. Cedar High School Redmen took a shellacing at the hands of the Davis Darts in football action Friday night at the Cedar High Stadium. The Redmen were unable to stop the ground attack of the Darts and were never able to gain any momentum of their own. The Darts controlled the game from start to finish and not only ate up yardage with a sustained ground gain, but also controlled the clock. The Darts took the opening kickoff in the game and marched 56 yards for a touchdown and an early 7-0 lead. The drive took ten plays and consumed five minutes of the first quarter. The score came on a dive from four yards out by running back Jeff Webster and Ryan Hill booted the extra point. The Redmen came back with a sustained drive of their own following the kickoff but they got bogged down after picking up a first down on the Dart 11 and failed to push the ball in. Robert Morris was thrown for a loss back to the 12, Alan Moss bulled to the six and Brad Jackson hit over the middle to the four to set up a fourth and three for first and four for touchdown. Quarterback Charles Judd went to the air and missed turning over the ball to the Darts on their onw four to close the quarter with the Darts out in front 7-0. In the second period the Redmen never controlled the ball, outside their own 35 and they failed to pick up a single first down as the Darts controlled the game. After getting the Redmen into a corner they took over with 2:30 in the half on the Redmen 42 following a punt. Eight plays later and with just 16 seconds on the clock Quarterback Quar-terback Hess connected on an aerial to Payne from seven yards out for the score. The PAT was missed despite a Redman penalty and the Dart took a 13-0 lead at halftime. , The third period was primarily another sustained drive by the Darts. Taking over on their own 20 they marched 80 yards for another score, this time with Hess on a keeper from two yards out and a pass for two points moved the score to 21-0. In the period the Redmen had only eight offensive playsthe largest one a 26 yard sprint by Morris. Early in the fourth period the Redmen bogged down on the . Dart 32. Again the Darts ground out yardage and time marching for another score on a one yard plunge with 5:08 remaining on the clock. Following the kickoff the Redmen generated their only drive on the game, The drive started on their own 27 and Robert Morris ended the 73 yard march with a five yard sweep around the left side for the only |
